Step 1: Getting Started
Buying a new home is an exciting time. Thinking through what you want first can save you a lot of time. Below we have listed a few points to help you focus on what’s important to you. The Champion Homes team will guide you through the points and help you make the right choice on the home you like.

The Type of Home You Would Like
- Single storey, double storey or dual occupancy homes such as a duplex or house with granny flat

The Size of the Home
- Number of bedrooms, bathrooms and car parking spaces

The Internal Layout of the Home You Like
- Position of bedrooms, formal and informal living, dedicated media or study room, casual outdoor living
- Consider the level of inclusions you would like in your new home
- Think through your needs now and into the future

Setting a Budget
- Having a clear focus on how much you want to spend will help you make the right decision as to which Champion Homes design best suits your needs.

Step 2: Tender Request
Having decided on the Champion Homes design you like, with the layout and inclusions you want, the Champion Homes staff will prepare the tender request documents for submission to our office.
Step 3: Tender Preparation
Once the tender request documents are received a custom design of the home you like will be prepared, showing the changes you requested. When the design is complete, a tender will be prepared, detailing all the inclusions in your new home.
Step 4: Tender Acceptance
Once the tender documents are complete your Champion Homes Consultant will present the plan of your new home and discuss any further changes you may have in mind.
At the same meeting, the consultant will answer any questions you have about the tender inclusions. The tender acceptance meeting will generally take 2 hours. At the meeting you and the Champion Homes Consultant will sign the tender an you will pay the tender fee.
Tender acceptance is a very important step in the purchase of your new home as it is your last chance to request changes to your plans.

Step 5: Contract, Contour Survey and Final Plan
The signed tender and any request for further changes to the plans are submitted to our office. Work starts on preparing the final set of drawings incorporating any changes requested at tender acceptance. On completion of the drawings, the HIA Building Contract for New Dwellings is prepared for your acceptance and signature.
Step 6: Exterior and Interior Selections
The best part of building is adding your own character and style. This can be daunting. Because of this, we make the process enjoyable and easy with our home design Champion.
We call it the Style Studio. This is where you can make your selections and add your personal touch to your new home.
When your construction drawings and building agreement are finalised the Champion colour consultant will be in contact. They will arrange a meeting at our Style Studio to help you choose the exterior and interior finishes.

Step 7: Pre-Construction
Our pre-construction staff will arrange for the preparation of reports noted in your tender. They will also arrange supporting documents that are required to accompany the construction drawings. Once complete this is submitted to council or certifier for approval.
Our pre-construction staff will notify you of the development approval and receipt of the construction certificate from the consent authorities.

Step 8: Construction
Once approved, the pre-construction staff will forward the construction drawings and supporting documentation to the Champion construction team.
The construction of your new home begins. You will be assigned a construction supervisor who will be responsible for your build. You will have the opportunity to meet with him on site at various stages throughout the build.

Step 9: Handover
Final Inspection
You will be able to personally inspect your new home with your building supervisor. They will guide you through the final inspection.
Afterwards you will be presented with the keys to your new home! Our client services team will provide you with all warranty documentation.
